| While attending law school, Mr. Spencer served on Duke Law School's "Journal of Law and Contemporary Problems" and clerked for the Division of Special Investigations of the Pension and Welfare Benefit Programs at the Since entering private practice in 1982, he has developed expertise in litigation, labor law, e-commerce, corporate law, government contracts, employment discrimination law, a variety of employee benefit matters, and in the area of anti-trust. He regularly provides legal counsel to ERISA-governed benefit plans, voluntary employee beneficiary associations, and Federal Employees Health Benefits Plans. In addition, he advises arts organizations on entertainment law, artistic and mechanical royalties and other contract issues. Mr. Spencer serves as general counsel to Parish Road Ventures, Inc., which has established a nationwide electronic network to facilitate commerce in the health care industry. As a member of the Employee Benefits Subcommittee of the American Bar Association's Section on Labor and Employment Law, Mr. Spencer has contributed to the revision of several Section publications, including the Section's Employee Benefits Law and Developing Labor Law treatises. |
